Precision Flight Controls launches Bell 206 SIM

January 25, 2017  By Precision Flight Controls

Precision Flight Controls in partnership with Ryan Aerospace of Australia, recently introduced their helicopter annual I/ITSEC Training and Simulation event in Orlando, Florida which is the world’s largest training and simulation conference of its kind.

The simulator is based on the Bell 206 and includes a full avionics suite consisting of a fully functional G530 WAAS GPS with a second NAV/COM radio, ADF and transponder. The main instrument panel, overhead and center console features full fidelity for normal and emergency operations. The external visual system consists of six, 4K 70-inch LED monitors which showcase Quantum3D’s image generator. The included Instructor Operating Station allows the instructor to effectively and efficiently load a multitude of weather combinations and equipment failures for various training scenarios. Its modular design also allows the operator the capability to change the instrument panel to a Bell 407 configuration with glass cockpit displays. The simulator is positioned on a 3-DOF D-Box motion platform which brings additional realism and a refined level of motion cueing. The combined features provide an optimized level of training for normal and abnormal procedures, ground operations and in-flight training scenarios all at a very cost effective point. The simulator is being submitted for to the FAA for AATD approval and PFC will also be seeking FTD Level 7 approval later this year.
